Year2024Share

The Change Champion Project aims to inspire and empower young people aged 18-35 to recognize and fulfill their civic responsibilities, embrace diversity, and engage with relevant institutions for social change. Participants will learn to effectively use digital platforms to amplify their voices and advocate for causes they believe in, focusing on health, education, and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) while the project is set to take place in Osun State, Nigeria.

Project Rationale:
The project addresses several challenges:
• Lack of advocacy skills
• Limited community engagement
• Data deficiency
• Insufficient platforms for knowledge sharing Project Activities:

– Digital Advocacy Workshops: Equipping participants with skills to leverage digital platforms for advocacy.

Community Fact-Findings: Participants will conduct missions to identify community issues and develop advocacy campaigns.

• Community Data Insights: Analyzing data to identify trends and patterns on education and WASH.

• The Change Champion Conference: This is a concluding event for participants to share experiences and recommendations.  By empowering young people with advocacy skills, promoting diversity and inclusivity, and facilitating engagement with relevant institutions, The Change Champion Project empowers a new generation of civic-minded leaders committed to driving positive social change.

Upon successful completion of the project, participants will be inducted into the Get Healthy Africa Initiative’s (GHAi) Advocates and Volunteers Network. This induction will provide access to:

• Ongoing capacity building and skills development.
• Mentorship from experienced professionals and advocates.
• Opportunities for further engagement and collaboration on social impact projects.

This network will serve as a platform for continued growth, learning, and collective impact, fostering a community of dedicated advocates and volunteers committed to driving positive change in their communities.
